Cases of human swine flu have been confirmed in Mexico and the USA ( posted on Apr 27, 2009 ) “People returning from a visit to an affected area are advised to monitor their health closely for seven days. If during this period they develop a feverish illness accompanied by one or more of a cough, sore throat, headache or muscle aches, they should stay at home and contact their GP by phone or seek advice from NHS Direct (0845 4647).” DoH WEBSITE Extended Hours ( posted on Oct 1, 2008 ) New Extended Hours From Monday 15th September 2008 the surgery will be offering extended surgery hours. These appointments are strictly by appointment (ie pre booked) which can be booked in the usual way. It is envisaged they will give improved availability to patients who find it difficult to see a GP due to work commitments. These Extended Hours will be : Wednesday Morning 7.30 to 8.30 Wednesday Eveneing 6.30 to 7.30 Thursday Morning 7.30 to 8.30 Saturday Morning 8.30 to 11.30 Emergency cover will continue to be provided by the out-of-hours service 06:30pm to 08:00am Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank holidays.
You will not be able to contact the surgery by telephone during these “extra hours”. Callers will be automatically advised to contact the out-of-hours service.
