Repeat Prescriptions

Prescriptions should be ready for collection after two full working days , so you should remember to hand in your request at least three days before you need your medication renewed. Repeat Medication requests can be made by the various methods below:

  • ONLINE -   Click on the "Blue Button Below
  • Email to repeat.ghs@nhs.net
  • Handing in your repeat medication sheet (which was attached to your previous prescription)
  • Post (please allow extra time for the request to reach us)
  • Fax (01666 827515)

If you are a new user to our online services you will need to obtain a user name and password.

To obtain this please call at reception and bring some photo identification with you (such as a passport, driving licence or student card) as we will need to verify your identification. We will not be able to give you your user name and Password without this ID verification.

For security reasons we cannot give out account details by phone, email or post. If you have a condition that prevents you getting to the surgery, you may nominate a relative or carer to collect the details on your behalf (at your own risk) by adding their details to the application form.

Once you've got your login details

Once a member of staff has given you a user name and a random password, wait an hour before trying to log in to the website.

Enter your user name and password and click Login. You will then see the SystmOnline Home Page, which shows your details and our GP practice's contact details at the top. You can also change the password to one you prefer.

Note: The services available here will depend on the services we currently provide.

You can navigate to all the online services from here, and can return to the Home Page by clicking Home in the blue menu bar, or by clicking the Back button on any page.

PLEASE NOTE We cannot take repeat prescriptions requests via telephone. Please call into reception to pick up your requested prescription, alternatively we can automatically send the prescriptions to any of the towns pharmacies once they are completed. This means the medication should be ready for collection when you arrive, saving you a wait. If you do wish for us to forward your prescription please indicate this on the request slip.

Prescriptions are currently priced at £8.40. If you are on multiple repeat medications it is probably worthwhile contacting the Prescriptions Authority or asking your pharmacist for a pre-payment certificate which will greatly reduce your prescription charges. If you are under 18 years of age, unemployed or on invalidity benefit then you will not have to pay for your prescription. Ensure that you fill out the reverse of the prescription form correctly and sign it, and have some proof that you are exempt from prescription charges with you when you collect your medication from the pharmacy. Prescriptions can be redeemed at any UK pharmacy.
